THIS BOOK IS CALLED an Earth Dwellers Guide to Recycling and Environmental Conservation for Companies because any company, no matter how large or small, can have a tremendous impact on our environment. It does not matter even if you don't manufacture a thing or use any raw materials, utilize chemicals, produce waste as a by-product of your process, or have any discharge to the air or water. It is merely operating a business through activities you do in the office or at an operating facility no matter what type that will generate waste. Waste of any kind impacts the environment and the decisions you make about how you deal with those materials affect us all. Business owners and operators and individual employees have a tremendous impact as you conduct your everyday business on this planet's environment. Companies can be positive or negative, and the hope is that you will take an opportunity to review how you manage your everyday activities to determine the steps you can take to make a positive impact on this planet's environment. I would like you to consider some of these activities in this book because many of them will save you money, but also more so because as citizens of the communities you exist in it is the right thing to do for the health of our planet and its future existence. Your activities affect all of us, no matter what business you conduct. This book covers many waste generating activities but is not intended to deal with your process waste, air emissions, or water discharges that tremendously impact this environment. This book does deal with the waste you generate as you conduct your business and the conservation practices you can put in place that can make a difference. This book also calls people to action, an action that saves you money, gives you a way to get your employees involved and yourself. Also, one of this book's strengths and intentions was to try to inform you about many things you do that can be changed to make a difference from Plastics to Cigarette Butts to Light bulb use to batteries to transportation to chemicals to used oil management and fundamental issues with trash and water. All of these activities are packed with not only great information and justification for doing them but "how" to do them, leaving no way for you not to see how you can turn this knowledge into action and savings. This book offers real facts and data on what "Earth Dwellers" are doing to this planet in many areas. The book gives you information you as a company can do to save the world in some small and some more significant steps. You need to read this book, and I might say to take it one step further and go into some of the references I give you to dive deeper into ways you can change your life and your employee's lives and the future the life of this planet. As part of this human race living on this beautiful planet, we owe it to each other and our future generations to ensure the quality of our existence and the health of this planet protected and as a business owner, operator, or employee you can make a real impact. It would be naive of me if I expected everyone to do all of what I am suggesting here to recycle and conserve our resources. I have a rather a more realistic approach, and that is to give you a starting point JUST DO SOMETHING!!!
